Some recommendations

Sierra Nevada is the perfect destination for a winter family vacation. For this reason, we want to give you some tips to enjoy the snow with the little ones, especially if it is the first time they ski.

What clothes should they wear? At what age is it recommended that they begin to learn? Is it better if I teach them or hire a ski school?

The main thing: Make them have fun! Thinking about going with children to spend a few days in the snow may seem, at first, a bit chaotic. However, it is something easy and fun if we follow a series of recommendations.

At what age to learn to ski?

First, we recommend waiting until the child is at least 3 years old before their first contact with the snow. At that age children begin to have some independence and control their own movements and we believe that it is a good time to enjoy the snow, either with their first ski lessons or in a Snow Garden where they will share with other children.

Skiing is a fun and family sport, it is transmitted from parents to their kids and every day it has more followers. Therefore, we advise you to talk about the sport at home before going skiing, through videos and books so that they know what they are going to do before arriving at the Ski Resort. Pass on your passion for skiing!

Comfortable, warm and safe

When going to the snow and practicing a sport like skiing, equipment is very important. For this we must first of all avoid that the children feel cold or sore feet, to avoid that they have a bad experience and do not want to go skiing again. From Blanca Nieve we recommend dressing the child with three layers and not forgetting to make them wear a helmet, which in addition to protecting them, will keep their head warm

The first steps in skiing for children should always be next to somene with experience on the snow and in a safe area. In addition, they will learn from scratch with the proper technique and from the professionals who are used to dealing with children and who make ski lessons enjoyable and fun.

When skiing with children we must adapt to their rhythm and try to avoid slopes that are not suited for their level, we must let them gradually gain confidence and experience. Finally, always remember to take plenty of water with you to hydrate them and a snack and fruit to give them energy.
