Ski Barter, every year I try to spend a few days at the beach, (any beach in Spain, the north coast, the south coast, they are all so beautiful! ….) and why not in France, Greece, Holland, Russia !!!!!! 😉 before returning to winter in the southern hemisphere, in Argentina, after the ski season.
Searching on the internet for an option to rent a flat near the sea for May that would meet my needs, I found one that had a nice terrace and an affordable price. It also had incredible views of the sea, right on the beach. I wrote from the email address where my signature appears as the director of my ski school and ski and snowboard equipment rental and ohhhhh surprise! I got a reply from Cecilia, the owner of the flat by the sea, with a proposal that surpassed any expectations I might have had.

Cecilia has a 5-year-old girl and wants her to learn to ski. It’s an activity that many people are interested in, and it’s a great idea. Having children learn to ski from an early age will give them an advantage as children learn spontaneously, like a game. They are more flexible and their centre of gravity is closer to the snow! This makes learning easier.
In addition, the first steps in skiing for children should always be with a specialised and experienced person and in a safe area. This way the little ones will be more concentrated as they will not have the confidence they have with someone from the family. In addition, they will learn from the very beginning in the right way, without picking up habits that could be difficult to get rid of later on, and from professionals who are used to dealing with children and who make ski lessons fun and enjoyable.
Cecilia knows all this, and that’s why she wants to start as soon as possible! And her enthusiasm came with a good idea, which can also be an idea for other interested people: She proposed to me to barter: her flat on the beach for ski rental equipment.
You can’t imagine how happy I was, otherwise my dream holiday would have been cut short.
We are agreeing to start the next season. January seemed better for her because of the activities she is involved in. It is an ideal month for skiing in the Sierra Nevada, the sun, the snow cannons that ensure snow, and the less crowded slopes, I don’t know who is more enthusiastic with this proposal, Cecilia or me 😉
And we also agreed that if during this season they couldn’t come, the beach barter for ski lessons and ski equipment for the girl will continue next season as well. And the snowboarding equipment for her too, because she and a friend will learn to snowboard!
She told me that it is a dream she has had for a long time and she wants to try it. She knows how to ski but she wants to try to learn how to snowboard. It’s a good idea because if she already knows how to ski, snowboarding, which is very different from skiing, has the same sensation: gliding…. And with that foundation, everything will be much easier for you.
It was probably a stroke of luck, but this episode made me think that I could implement this benefit to those who would like to exchange their services for learning to ski or learn to snowboard, ski or snowboard equipment rental, family skiing or snowboarding, ski or snowboarding lessons for groups, sledging, rental of snow accessories or clothing: protections such as back protectors, knee pads, helmets, wristbands, goggles, ski jacket or trousers, etc.
